Homecoming Look Book

Hi!  Today’s post is all about my Homecoming formal preparation!  Although it has passed, I thought it would be a neat post to talk about my choice of hairstyle, make up look, as well as my dress and shoes.  I have all of the links to where I purchased everything under their photos.  Be sure to comment below other blog post ideas as well!

I started off my day getting my nails done and finding the make-up look I wanted to recreate off Pinterest.  (Don’t forget to follow my Pinterest!)  To start off I applied my Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer.  Then, since I was planning on doing a full face of makeup, I made sure to use a full coverage foundation and concealer like the Revlon ColorStay Foundation and the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.  Those two products combined created the perfect base for all of my other makeup!  Next, to set my base I took my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder and pressed it on my concealer so I wouldn’t crease throughout the night.  Following that was my contour and highlight!  One of my favorite parts in my makeup routine!  I use both a powder bronzer and highlight.  For my bronzer I use the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer  and the Melisa Michelle Makeup Palette highlight!  Then I recently started to incorporate my Pixi by Petra Blush to get the perfect rosy hue!  The next thing I like to do is my eyes.  I start with my eyebrows and then move to eyeshadow and eyeliner.  For my brows I use a very inexpensive drug store product from e.l.f.  This eyebrow pomade, E.l.f Brow Enhancer Cream, is the perfect eyebrow filler and lasts me for at least 8 hours!  To set my eyebrow hairs in place, I use my NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel.  Subsequently, I use my Melisa Michelle Makeup Palette for the beautiful eyeshadows inside!  I started off by using “Weezy” over my entire lid, then blended “Tobo” into my crease and under my lower lashes, and then took “Harley” to my crease and outer “v”.  To add some shimmer to my eyes, I used “Lola” and “Toresita” over the center of my lid and inner corners.  Lastly, for my eyes, I used the IT Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner to tight line my eye and applied my Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara to my upper and lower lashes.  To finish off my look I used another drug store dupe, the L.A. Colors Matte Liquid Lip Color.

Soon after I started my hair.  This was quite the process!  I decided to do a curled up-do with a slight “poof”.  My mother helped me out by adjusting the back so that everything was centered and even.  We than began by teasing my top sections to create volume and then smoothed it over to form the “poof”.  We tied it off with a small, clear elastic.  With the remaining hair, we curled it using the Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Flat Iron Straightening Mist  and my Remington Curling Wand.  Once it was fully curled, we took some more sections and looped them around themselves to create bigger curls.  We secured them with bobbin pins.  Lastly, to give off a more natural and relaxed look, I pulled out the baby hairs that frame my face and curled them.  To set and finish the look, I sprayed the Herbal Essences Hairspray.

Now for my outfit!  All pieces to my outfit are linked below with pictures!  I ordered a black, halter top, short dress with a silver zipper that begins mid way down your back. To match, I got black suede tie heels and silver jewelry.  The overall look turned out sheek yet sexy.
